Donald Trump Jr. thought up a creative way to discredit the indictments special counsel Robert Mueller has already secured, telling the Fox and Friends hosts Monday morning that there were no actual crimes, just things people did in past lives.
Theyre not investigating actual crimes anymore, Trump Jr. said. Theyre literally trying to find something they can make a big deal of.
What they did is they put incredible pressure on regular guys that couldnt afford million dollars in legal fees, got them to slip up, say something incorrectly, he continued. They pretended theyre their friends.
There are no actual crimes, he concluded. There is only things that people did in past lives, in 2006 before we even thought wed ever get into this crazy world.

So far, eight people have pleaded guilty to charges brought due to Muellers investigation.

When you are on trial in court the crimes with which you are charged with are always in the past
but to Fox News viewers they somehow think that Jr's gibberish is knowledge.
So the June 2016 meeting of Trump Jr, Kushner, Manafort, and the Russians
in Trump Tower really took place in 2006.

As to the "past lives" bullshit... is he saying he is a re-born criminal? It's not like declaring for Jesus. ya know... your past criminal sins are NOT washed away.

(9,350 posts)If you are telling the truth, how can someone trick you into saying something incorrectly. Also, it is likely that most people consider "say something incorrectly" to mean lie. I can understand the idea of people being forced into a confession. However, the people Donald Trump Jr. is talking about are not broke, uneducated individuals. These people are educated professional who had careers and were knowledgeable of the legal system.
Also, Trump Jr. claims his family never thought they would be in the political world. That does not ring true. Donald Trump Sr. has been talking about running for President since the 90s.
