The only thing that will curb this kind of abuse is a bit of payment in kind. The dim-witted cops and the lazy, over-eager ICE idiots need to spend time in detention equal to (or, preferably, double to) the time this guy spent in illegal detention. This time, every time.

Wanna bet the number of U.S. citizens mistreated in this manner sinks to zero REAL fast?

ICE has said that Ramos-Gomez told them he was undocumented during an interview in jail and that they took action by detaining him afterward. The ACLU of Michigan said this claim raises questions about how thoroughly ICE investigated the situation.

Whaddya wanna bet that they asked him for his green card - and he said he didn't have one? That is what they are calling "undocumented."

my guess is that they specifically recruit bigots.
