Things my conservative relatives say

"We need a strong, decisive alpha male to lead us after the 8 pusillanimous years of Obama and Hitlery"
"We beat the native Americans fair and square"
"Southerners lynched more Irish Americans than blacks"
"I got a gun in case the government tries to come and get me"
"Obtaining health care should be a privilege you have to earn"

It's tough to argue absurdities

I don't think I have ever met a Trumper who used words even remotely like "pusillanimous".

'holding to traditional attitudes and values and cautious about change or innovation, typically in relation to politics or religion.'

'Ignorant' covers it better, imo.

with trump? I would guess not because they cling harder to the thought of losing their guns. This, under trump? Why? Oh, guessing that he stokes their fears .... point that out. I have a cousin who tried to commit suicide with his gun about 4 years ago ... last week he told me he "loves his guns." I don't know what to say.
