We now know what sketch will be the cold open for SNL this Saturday. Calling Ben Stiller now....

Ben Stiller as Cohen,
the cast as all the members of Congress
Maybe bring in De Niro as Mueller for a funny ending,
or Baldwin as Trump watching it all on TV, reacting while Kellyanne tries to calm him with baby toys...

what does "cold open" mean? I see the term used every week and am at a loss.

before the show's introductions have taken place. Then, when the cold open skit is over, it ends with the intro "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night", followed by the opening credits.
