Insane, babbling fool, and the crowd cheered on...
I cannot define pornography but I know it when I see it.
Watching the leader of the free world mockingly embrace the American flag and whine about how Democrats do not love this country, and he has a list....
The whole world was watching as the sycophantic crowd embraced the whiny bastard.
It was enough to gag a maggot.

(17,276 posts)This goes so very far beyond Dubya. They must have gone from questioning our sanity as a nation to actually having pity for us.
It will gag a maggot but not a MAGAt! lol

(47,352 posts)but there were some sane rational people in his administration and aside from his much too friendly attitude to the Saudis, he didn't collude with known adversaries. Trump has made sure to weed out everyone in his administration, who is halfway reasonable or knowledgeable, while courting tyrants and dictators. He is truly a very dangerous man.

(21,105 posts)I cannot and will not overlook the 1 million children, women and men he murdered in his ILLEGAL war. Jr and Cheney were just as evil, if not more so, than Agent Orange. They were just not "as crazy".
Jr as president for life? Just shoot me. That would make me happier.

(6,254 posts)bottom of the barrel. He was ignorant and he was a liar. Bushs ignorance and reliance on others like Cheney caused so much pain and devastation throughout the world. Never in a million years did I think we could do worse. Time will tell if Bush or Trump hold the title as the worst president in history. I do believe, however, that at least Bush May have some understanding of what a bad president he was and has thus stated mostly out of the limelight. Trump, however, IMO, will leave The White House with his head held high and never acknowledge the affect he has had in the world. If you were offended by my comments then I apologize, they werent meant to hurt anyone. I am just frustrated about what is happening to our country and what the future holds.

(2,312 posts)Clearly, Trump is a much worse administrator, and probably a much worse person than Bush. But the unnecessary invasion of Iraq and the loss of life in Iraq and for military families across the U.S. is a deep, dark stain on the Shrub/Vice co-presidency.
If Bush had a second chance, he might even be less doctrinaire in his conservatism. He knows his financial and military policies led to death and devastation, and his daughters might moderate the instincts of his handlers. Finally, without Cheney, he might not any worse than say, George H.W. Bush (though that's still bad).
In short, no worries, but I'll never get over the death of my cousin, 1st Lt. Jacob N. Fritz, and the lies that sent him to Iraq and to his demise.

(47,352 posts)Bush was a horrible president. I cannot even entertain a choice like that - Bush or Trump?

(47,352 posts)is potentially far more dangerous than Bush, who was incompetent and manipulated, but not completely delusional. Trump could easily set off World War III, ending life as we know it.

(10,151 posts)Trump is the epitome of capitalism.
All the necessary traits to be successful in our capitalist political and economic system are on display in Trump. Trump is what the Waltons and Koch brothers want.
You can take it even further. Trump represents all the very rich Americans from the Vanderbilts, to the Rockefellers, to Epstien and the DeVos. He is their choice, their guy, one of them.
Trump is the capitalist kings representative.

(8,200 posts)The situation is little different than what transpired during the early 1930's. The situation is not as severe, but contains the basic elements. Stagnation of the Middle Class which is threaten by globalization and especially automation. It is the perfect situation that provided fertile ground for the rise of demagogues. It is not limited to our nation, but is infecting countries through out Europe, such as Poland, Hungry and Turkey to name a few. Basically the stagnation of the Middle Class provided situation for election of Trump who is nothing more than a raving imitation of Mussolini. He is making the same outlandish promises that a gullible segment of the population embraced and led to Germany and Italy's disastrous destruction.
It should not be a surprise that the segment of his most ardent supporters are made up the evangelicals and those with a high school or less education. This is coupled with the fact that the Republican Party has been moving toward the establishment of a authoritarian presidency for the last forty years. Their goal is a virtual dictatorship of a president under the directorship of an oligarchy little different than the governments of China and Russia. Congress' role would be subservient to presidency as well as every other government agency including the Department of Justice. It is being put to the test with Trump's determination to break congress' authority and imposed his will on the nation over the boarder dispute. The only why it can be stopped is at the ballot box. Again it should not be a surprise that Republicans a have attempted to disenfranchise those groups who are more likely to oppose them. Nor should it be surprising that they have been attacking the Free Press over the same period. These are the hallmarks of Fascism.
