Republican Chris Christie says he wants to help his friend President Trump, but hes content to do it from afar.
Im not desperate for a title. Im not looking to run to Washington, D.C., says the former New Jersey governor and Trump rival in the 2016 race.

Republican Chris Christie, former governor of New Jersey and Donald Trump rival for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination, told CNBC on Monday that he wants to help his friend the president, but hes content to do it from afar.
Im not one of these people whos desperate for a job. I think I turned down seven of them down, Christie said in a Squawk Box interview. Im not desperate for a title. Im not looking to run to Washington, D.C. What Im looking to do is to make the country better and to help my friend.
Among the jobs that Christie said he declined in the Trump administration included Labor secretary, Homeland Security secretary, special assistant to the president, ambassador to Rome, and ambassador to the Vatican.
He hasnt offered me anything that I really wanted to do, said Christie, author of Let Me Finish: Trump, the Kushners, Bannon, New Jersey, and the Power of In-Your-Face Politics.
If theres something I really want to do and I think I bring real value to him and the country Ill step up and do it, he added. I can certainly help him from where I am. And its much better for my family if I stay where I am.

(5,268 posts)1. Attorney General was probably the only job Christie wanted and wasn't offered
Trump and Kushner didn't trust Christie to protect Trump & Co. once Christie as AG found out the extent of Trump/Kushner criminality because of Christie's role in sending Kushner's dad to prison. They never trusted Christie enough to let him into the inner circle that has been lying and covering up about the Russian and other foreign "collusion".
