tRump has made well over 8k false and misleading statements, has committed obstruction, collusion, and very likely treason.
The rethugs did ZERO oversight in the House the past 2 years. They totally abdicated their oath to uphold the values of our Constitution.
We are now going after docs from 81 individuals because it's 2 years worth! The MSM has normalized the orange bigot's bullying and lying. Now that we have power in the House, we can punch back. Any criticism that Dems are over doing it is ridiculous!
On the contrary, oversight is expected and demanded of ALL members in Congress. We can also (at the same time) do the work of the people in areas of health care, social justice, and environmental stewardship.
Rock on Dems!

(11,725 posts)People get upset that Democrats are overreaching so they watch what the "stupid Dems" are doing. People get upset that the Democrats are being portrayed as overreaching so they watch what the "stupid corporate media" is saying about the Dems.
I agree with your point that the Democrats are actually just doing what Congress should have done over the previous 2 years, but that is a boring narrative to the media.
I think that the Democrats know what they need to do and will continue to hold the crook in the White House accountable.

(7,228 posts)Watched Katy Tur on MSNBC, she's good but a couple of pundits were whining the Dems are now overdoing it by going for all these docs at once. Total BS!
On edit: I saw whining on TV, the LA Times story is not critical of Dems doing what they should be doing.

(12,958 posts)to note that the endless Benghazi investigations were in fact obvious and utter bullshit.

(82,849 posts)I don't recall a whole lot of concern in the media that all the Benghazi nonsense was "too much" or "over the top" or "risked turning off voters" or even that "Republicans had better get some results" for all the time wasted on that foolishness.
The Democrats have been on the job for barely two months, and the administration is squealing 24-7 about having to answer for their actions. As the kid played by Matthew Broderick said in "War Games," "Learn, dammit!"

(46,684 posts)In the same day that the media is playing the Mea Culpa card for Trump's election to the presidency, because they gave him too much airtime; they are now doubling down on that stupid decision by getting in the way Congress's investigation and oversight responsibilities.
Fucking unbelievable.
