Facebook is a poor place for political, religious, and ideological postings. That's because friends and family don't all share the same views in those areas. I have no interest in stirring up disputes with my friends and family. I'm a political person, but I post my political views on political websites. You won't find them here.
Anyhow, that's what's on my mind today, Facebook.
I doubt it will do any good, but it's collecting likes.

(146,248 posts)It lets me keep up with what friends and family are doing and lets them keep up with me.
What I want is to see less political and religious crap in my feed. I have one person who "shares" right-wing crap constantly. What I do is hide the sources from which it was shared. I do that every time I see such a post. Now, I'm seeing a lot less of it from that person. I can't really hide that person, because it's important that I stay in touch with him, for family reasons. But, I can hide shares from shit sites.

(4,986 posts)so I "unfollow" them (not unfriend). That way I can still check out what's on their timeline periodically for any family-related news, but not have to receive any of their rwing crap on my newsfeed.

(22,059 posts)post is a 'must see'. I have the same scenario w/ some in my family, whom I have told repeatedly that I'm not interested in seeing such stuff, but they still post (to a massive list of addressees whom 'they' feel like it's important to share such stuff w/ others).
In one ear, out the other.

(16,252 posts)You can do that without unfriending them.
I go to their own page every so often and like some stuff, so they won't notice, lol.
