Show was to start at 8. We got there earlier because of fan club merch give away and also got to be some of the first to buy our shirts.
We got food and found our seats. Talked while we ate and enjoyed each other's company.
at 7:45 some comedian that tours with the group, told a few stories and then we thought it would be time to see the show. At almost 9:30 they took the stage. At 9 I went to use the RR and the Arena mgr was upstairs pacing the floor and I heard something like-they need to take the damn stage. People were getting angry and very drunk.
There was no explanation as to the late arrival.
It was a good show, but man....for those of us that had to work the next day....blech

(11,425 posts)In a college town few years ago. Most of the bands started at 11pm, I only went once and was falling asleep by midnight.
Oh to be young again!

(1,568 posts)I wanted to go but the kid and my money are going on a school trip to Italy this month. Glad it was a good show. I really hate the new arena. If youre not on the floor, the seats are so tiny and its so steep!

(100,038 posts)I moved on from Napster *YEARS* ago, if they didn't kill Napster, somebody else would have. Plus Sean Parker is involved with Facebook and Cambridge Analytica, which means that he's *PARTLY* responsible for the mess we're in now, so...

(14,899 posts)They more or less started on time... and one would have hoped so, considering the SF Symphony outnumbered them a couple-dozen to one, and in *their* musical world, performances don't start an hour or two late...
You'd think a band with their experience would have their s--t together... and especially recognize what you pointed out about the late start meaning drunker/angrier audience members. Drunker? Maybe okay. Angrier? Not so good for business. Sometimes anticipation and teasing does NOT lead to better endings...

Although I did just score tickets to the National, I can't wait to see that band live.

(15,296 posts)Joan Jett came on sharp at 7PM. 50 Minutes of Kick Ass "Joanism". 20 Minutes for stage prep, then The Who hit that stage at 815 and kicked-ass for 2.45 hours. Short couple minute break between songs toward the end of the show so Pete could put some Freeze Spray on his BLEEDING FUCKING FINGERS
And people wonder why I say The Who is the "Greatest Live Band...EVER"

In high school I remember going to see T.L.C. for a concert starting at 8:30 and they didn't hit the stage until 12:30(!)
