Is CNN purposely trying to marginalize AOC within the Democratic Party?

From articles placing AOC at the center of some kind of popular internal backlash within the party, to Jake Trapper's attempt (At least, that's what I think it was) to catch her in some kind of gotcha moment yesterday, my suspicions are growing. I don't watch cable news much anymore. I personally think all the major cable news networks (Save for Fox, which is an out and out hate channel) are corporate garbage dumpsters whose sole purpose seems to be to stir up as much sh*t as possible.

At any rate, I really love the fact that AOC is ruffling feathers across the board and making the established powers that be uneasy. Change is coming!

She's newsworthy. She's going to get coverage, positive or negative.

“I am thinking that probably the attention she is getting is a convenient partnership between the media, who kind of likes celebrities, and the Republicans, who want a target.” -- Richard Gephardt

She's the most energetic and magnetic personality in D.C. right now. I just worry that I'm starting to see signs of what the media always does whenever a new face in the Democratic Party achieves a meteoric rise in popularity amongst the people: A high volume of coverage followed by an immediate tearing down of that figure. I saw this with Gary Hart in 1984 and Howard Dean in '04.

She's certainly capable of defending herself, but it's all too easy to imagine her falling prey to yet another hatchet job designed to maintain the status quo and prevent real social change.

They tore themselves down; Hart because of his personal behavior, and Dean, because his campaign imploded after his mediocre performance in Iowa. The media just reported it.

I have NEVER seen the media headlock reTHUG pols in the same way, no matter what their personal shortcomings. There's a definite double-standard.

They made a big deal out of Dean's screech which was a nothingberder, and Gary Hart was set up.

CNN and msnbc are complicit with the far right. Cable news pushes right wing narratives and maybe the #1 right wing narrative being pushed by the 3 major cable news networks is that Democrats are overreaching, that Democrats are in disarray.

AOC is a threat to the right wing corporate controlled M$M which includes CNN and MSNBC because she has the rare ability to change the right wing narratives.

She is not going to get positive coverage from cable news, the point of the thread is spot on, the oligarchs who own and control cable news fear AOC.

Big Pharma, Big Farma, Big Fossil fuel, Big Whatever have a political agenda to sell as well as selling drugs and their other products and cable news is complicit with them pushing their far right POLITICAL agenda.

How much money do you suppose that Big Pharma gave to AOC?

My point was that Cable Infotainment "News" is not about news but about ad revenue and filling the time between the commercials be those for Drugs, Breakfast Cereal, Cars, Medicare Supplements or what have you.

They occasionally brush up against journalism but at the best it's just opinions and for the most part it is simply noise.
