A fence company whose web sites I work on also builds chain link kennels

for dog boarding facilities. They're typically built indoors, on a concrete floor. They work great, and are built 6' high, to allow most people to stand in them. They're typically about 6' x 8' in size, and have a low bench for food and water dishes, and are equipped with a dog bed. They're very convenient, because they can be washed out, after removing the bed, with a hose, with the water flowing to a central floor drain.

They sound, to me, exactly like the "detention facilities" being described by Ms. Nielsen. Exactly. Each kennel has a lockable door, which requires a key to open. Cheap and secure for dogs being boarded. Unconscionable for humans.

And I'm betting they hose the ones the kids are jailed in, too, to clean them.

After removing the bedding, of course.
