I won't bother providing excerpts, the headline was drivel enough thank you.
Who wrote this crap?
"Analysis by Michael Warren"
Who the fuck is Michael Warren? Bio begins:
"Michael Warren is a reporter for CNN, based in the Washington D.C. bureau. Before joining CNN, Warren was a senior writer at the Weekly Standard, where he covered the White House, Congress, and national politics."
"...Before joining CNN, Warren was a senior writer at the Weekly Standard..."
"...Warren was a senior writer at the Weekly Standard..."
Fucking CNN.

(18,770 posts)...well, above the normal page break on the website, in this case.
The very-conservative Manchester Union-Leader in NH used to do that in their print edition, and it was always frowned upon by others in the field. It's very yellow...
I get the sense that CNN it trying to be Fox before Fox was Trump / Fox. Bad plan...

(1,753 posts)is clearly sensitive to attacks from the right that the network is anti-Trump and has a leftwing bias so they post this sort of tripe from time to time as evidence theyre not.

(1,584 posts)An old and very successful way to cut off debate about Israel is to accuse anyone bringing up the subject is to call it anti-Semitism. For sure, some may be but not all. The new members in Congress are on a learning curve of what is acceptable and what is not. And yes, there should be a measure to cut out all anti-Semitic and anti-Islamic tropes in any speech made on the floor of Congress. But do not allow the media to make this intra-Democratic-family dispute a major factorin dividing our great party. We must be unified in our attemps to meld differing points of view born of our diverse cultural backgrounds into meaningful legislation to help us all.
I believe Bernie (with whom I disagree on tactics) and Karmala got this right in their position on this issue.
We must tell those in the media to bug off on making this a divisive too against us. Even Van Jones could not talk over the media host on this last night on CNN.

(19,954 posts)This is why this issue is so toxic, with idiots like him unable to differentiate between being opposed to the actions of the Israeli State and being anti Jewish people.
I would like to see peace between Israelis and Palestinians, so that they both can live together, in peace and harmony. I can't see how the automatic veto the Israeli State has, brings about that peace. Living on the island of Ireland, the most important step was for leaders from both sides to come together for talks, AND the driver of those talks was the US.

I don't understand what are the tropes, it seems like there's a concerted effort to keep the words out of the discussion.

This is a very divisive issue for those on the left. You can see that here on DU.
