I swear these idiots think that you can turn infrastructure over to for-profit entities and those companies will keep things up to snuff at no charge. That's a great plan; replace a few dollars in taxes with endless tolls and user fees just so the overly privileged few can line their pockets into eternity.

All I hear is “our taxes are too high!” And in the next breath, “The roads around here are terrible,” and “I ain’t voting for no school levies, let the damn schools figure out how to do more with less!”

Here in Ohio, our newly elected Republican governor wants to slap a gas tax on us of 18 cents per gallon for the purpose of repairing roads and bridges. His GOP majority legislature wants to cut it back to less than half. I’m wondering if we had some Federal $ to repair roads, would we have to come up with so much state money to accomplish the same goals.

He blames the local and state politicians for lack of jobs (although employment is at a high level now). If the legislature is Republican and the governor is Democratic, as it is in Louisiana, they blame the Guv for tax increases and debt, even though the legislature is responsible for both.
