Sisters allegedly killed elderly dad in 'perfect murder' plot then covered it up for years:
Two sisters are accused of killing their 85-year-old father in a chilling, premeditated plot that was uncovered four years later, thanks to a man, who had a sexual relationship with both sisters and came forward, authorities said.
Linda Roberts, 61, and Mary-Beth Tomaselli, 63, were arrested and charged with first-degree murder for the 2015 death of their father, Anthony Tomaselli, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said in a statement on Tuesday.
"This is in some respects as we sometimes call these things it's the perfect murder, because there was absolutely no sign of struggle, no sign of foul play," Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri told reporters Tuesday. "He had cancer, he had dementia, he was seriously ill ... They could have easily gotten away with it."

(23,655 posts)The fact that the 2 sisters were ok with killing their father.
The fact that the 2 sisters dated and had sexual relations with the same man.
The fact that they both told the guy they murdered their father.
The fact they drugged one of their daughters while they were killing their father.
Sick, sick, sick.

(1,773 posts)there's no such thing as a "perfect murder", or perfect anything. Refer to Locard's exchange principle. It's simply up to the detectives investigating the case (even if it's cold) to put the pieces together properly, with equal measures of luck and skill mixed in for good measure in certain cases.

(58,785 posts)pills that send me off quietly into that good night (the most common for women), would also be my preference for murdering an elderly relative. He'd need to be still technically capable of getting to the pills himself, of course.
Wonder just how common this is. My husband is instructed to let me go if I don't seem to be enjoying life, but I'm thinking of withholding treatment for a pneumonia or some such. Better tell him a rag down my throat would not be acceptable.
