Both she and Terry are so understated as to their vocal deliveries, that some might miss how devastating the interview and the article are.

"Just the facts, Maam," says Terry in so many words and Jane complies to a fare thee well.

Even though my subscription to the New Yorker over 50 years has increased to the stratosphere to my horror, I remain a loyal subscriber with numerous tote bags to attest to that addiction.

First subscribed whilst I was a mere nymph for lengthy essays about cycads, lizards etc. plus cartoons -- now for all that plus political depth.

She's good. Recently saw a profile of her and her ferocity at getting the story. Will catch the Fresh Air interview when I get a chance.

With all the whining about that nasty ol' press that doesn't do what we say it should do-- it's good to know that Mayer is one of the many out there who takes her job seriously and tough enough to get it right.

And, remember that as naive and quiet as she likes to seem, Gross is one of the best interviewers out there. She's the one who touched the nerve that got O'Reilly to storm out of the interview. Was listening to that while driving and damn near wrecked the car.
