Pentagon To Tap Military Pensions Fund For Border Wall
March 7, 2019 Immigration, Military

The Associated Press reports:

The Pentagon is planning to tap $1 billion in leftover funds from military pay and pension accounts to help President Donald Trump pay for his long-sought border wall, a top Senate Democrat said Thursday.

Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., told The Associated Press, “It’s coming out of military pay and pensions. $1 billion. That’s the plan.” Durbin said, “Imagine the Democrats making that proposal — that for whatever our project is, we’re going to cut military pay and pensions.”

Durbin, the top Democrat on the Appropriations panel for the Pentagon, was among a bipartisan group of lawmakers who met with Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan on Thursday morning.

Fake emergency according to Trump’s own words.

You typically can't reprogram pension funds to construction funds. The Pentagon budget would have to be written in a really strangely way, but if were written they way, it would make it a slush fund, and Congress rarely allows that.

but that just happened. We need to get fired up. And I mean AWAY from the computer keyboards.
Why is trump so confident he's doing a lounge act at CPAC last week? bc he knows the fix is in...again. When they seem too cool for school, it's bc they have gotten the 411 that the heist is on and everythings allllll lined up. We see it cycle after cycle in American politics. Uncommonly comfortable w being TOTAL assholes. See m. garland and M McConnell. We were stunned and sure it wouldnt work....see gorsuch and kavanaugh. This slow roll is to hamstring the country while we all play by the rules and make nice.
Wait for Mueller? How long?

The Pentagon will again ask Congress to replace the money. If they don't, MF45 will say it is Democrats who won't support the troops. The corporate media will go along with it and never report that it is because tRump stole it for his stupid wall in the first place

How on Earth does anyone vote republican again after they have literally forsaken everything they claimed to hold dear for generations just to stay in bed with Trump?

I really hope somebody tricks Trump into passing a big gun control bill just so I can watch far-right congresscritters defend it

But I wonder...could this really be true?

Or is it that they're getting the $$$ from the Defense Dept, which I'd heard before, so Durbin just phrases it like this, since leftover pension money is in that account?

Those crooked, xenophobic sons of bitches!!

Imagine the convo:

Individual 1: So...since Congress didn't give me the billions I want, but we must take care of our Russian comrades with interests in steel, let's reallocate some money from existing appropriations.

K. Neilsen: Well...we don't need any more steel cages...and Homeland's budget is already under stress and earmarked for current and future lawsuits...

S. Miller: We're not talking that much here, right? A few billion? Maybe Mnuchin could print and "lose" a few pallets of $100 bills..."W" funded the Iraqi transition and reconstruction to the tune of $12 billion.

Individual 1: Don't even mention that family...so LOW energy...

J. Kelley: Well, since you hugged the flag at CPAC, you sewed up the vet base. You know--the ones on disability who drive around in new pickups with huge eagles sprawled across the back window, an NRA sticker in the lower-left corner, and American flag decal on the lower-right? And especially the ones with large rubber scrotums hanging from the trailer hitch, and personalized plates with patriotic slogans. BACK POCKET. Those folks have benefits...and they're used to sacrificing. How about we just tap into that and go on a PR tour, blame Democrats for failing to fund things, and thank them again for answering the call of their country and for their continued sacrifice? They'll wave the flag and shout USA! USA at the next rally. They're EASY...and you're a star, so you can do anything...grab them...

Individual 1 (interrupts): Kelly, I get it! Perfect. And it's ideas like this is why I don't fire you.

S. Miller: But you should still have Mnuchin crank up the press. Those pallets might come in handy.

R. Guiliani: Miller has a point. Your defense isn't going to be cheap...

[Meeting interrupted as Don Jr. enters, approaches Individual 1, and whispers in his ear]
