And even deeper cuts to oil and gas industries. End all subsidies, except for those who are converting fossil to natural energy.
Spending freeze across the board for all departments until further notice. They can spend what they are budgeted for, but anything budget-busting will be deeply cut to 25% if it is Republican-related bullshit.

(17,862 posts)My daughter works on mental health department in a hospital. Medicaid is the predominant payee and needless to say these individuals do not have steady employment records. Many are there because they hurt or attempted to hurt others or themselves so you don't want them walking the streets. For those who do have medical problems as well, you don't want them dying in the streets as well.
I wonder how many middle class folks realize granny's LTC is paid for by Medicaid. Granny comes into your home or dies in her apartment.
My daughter is a new nurse (1 and 1/2 years) that is good at her job and would like to make mental health her career (not many do since it has little social prestige), but the lurking possibility that no one will pay for it going forward is always present. I told her to think about getting a job in a Hollywood dry out clinic, but of course plenty with her training will be doing just that.

It does give you a look at what a republican white house and Congress would be passing without a thought or a bad word against it!
