Pelosi taking impeachment off the table

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/03/11/house-speaker-nancy-pelosi-says-im-not-for-impeachment-of-trump.html

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Trump ‘unfit’ to be president, but ‘I’m not for impeachment’

KEY POINTS
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says “I’m not for impeachment” of President Donald Trump, arguing that “he’s just not worth” the divisiveness that the country would suffer from such an action.

Pelosi’s opposition to seeking Trump’s removal was stated in a new, wide-ranging interview with the California Democrat published by The Washington Post on Monday.

Her view contrasts with that of some of her fellow Democrats, who believe their party should use its new-found majority in the House to impeach the president.

<snip>

“I’m not for impeachment,” Pelosi told The Post.

“This is news. I’m going to give you some news right now because I haven’t said this to any press person before. But since you asked, and I’ve been thinking about this: Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country.”

“And he’s just not worth it,” Pelosi said.

I'm sure that everyone who's predisposed to have negative reactions to anything Pelosi says or does will be absolutely apoplectic over this.

Whenever Pelosi speaks, wig and toupee shops experience and uptick in business.

Clinton was impeached and became more popular and stayed in office. Dems please be careful what you wish for.The senate needed 67 votes got 50. How many votes would be for impeachment with our current congress. Surviving a impeachment attempt could help cement a Trump victory in 2020.

It is precisely this thinking that has gotten this country where it is today. * should have been impeached as well.

glass!" If the public was not calling for I by 80-90 percent and a vast majority of Rep Senators were calling for it doing so would be a disaster. Very wise decision by Ms. Pelosi, imo.

Let's keep Trump's decaying corpse up there on his charger taking arrow after arrow and blow after blow as he represents the Reps. When he finally crumbles and turns to dust the Rep party will hopefully go with him.

Have you heard how THEY want to cut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid? Well, everyone -- EVERYONE needs to know!

I want him to lose. A humiliating, resounding electoral loss (preferably to a woman, which would enrage him even more.) Impeachment* would just get him to whine about "angry Democrats" and would make him a martyr in the eyes of his supporters.

*Of course, this all depends on what's in Mueller's report.

Now, this one will get away with everything.

What will the next one do? Nothing is forbidden. Our laws? Break 'em all you want, no one will do anything! Congress doesn't care.
