She's followed her own advice, and is now creating major change in the conversation in Congress, one of America's most hated institutions. She's not locked in with the House or Representatives. They're locked in with her.

The system of power, as in a government political construct is a set institution, not what she is talking about.
She nailed it, by not acknowledging the hegemonic White European model of behavior.
W. E, B. DuBois wrote a nice piece, called The Souls of Black Folk, which presents the two faces African Americans must wear to survive in White America. There is your inner self, and the fabricated presentational self that must be carried to avoid overt criticism. That shifting between inner and outer self is not only draining, but fractures the personality of those attempting it. It's like living two lives.
