(44,228 posts)47 from Virginia plus 73 (30 months concurrent) from DC.

(10,749 posts)If 30 months are concurrent with the 47, then he's got 17 more from the first sentence and another 73 months from this one, for a total of 90 months, or 7 years and 6 months.
I know more would have been nice, and maybe even appropriate. And there's probably criminals who've been convicted of identical or at least comparable crimes and sentenced to longer terms. But I have to agree with others who've posted that Manafort is unlike to walk the earth a free man again. Not only is he not particularly healthy, I would hope that states have a go as well.
Next up - Roger Stone.
I'm hoping, of course for the silver grail of junior, eric, and ivanka, the golder grail of kushner, and the holy grail of the man himself. That said, I'm decreasingly confident that this will happen.

(2,678 posts)Paul Manafort will never walk a free man again. How many states also want Manafort. Pretty sure NY is one. Maybe VA?

(66 posts)I would have gone for more but that would only fuel Trump's narrative. Jackson did what she could. It was the other judge that screwed the pooch.

(35,262 posts)Just dealing with your rudeness and wrongness
Bernardo de La Paz
(48,955 posts)If you consider it rude to point out errors, you can consider me rude.
Note that in all the posts, you have not refuted the fact that you are wrong. Manafort did NOT get 3.5 years. Instead you wish to run up your post count with meaningless fluff posts like "You are certainly entitled to your opinion".
Further, it is common courtesy to provide context in an OP. Please don't accuse rudeness when your screen is so reflective.

Today he got 3.5 years(technically 3 yrs 7 mos)
I'll leave the addition problems to you

Post a credible link, if you can
It will also partly be a bassackwards way of providing the context you have rudely not provided.

(35,262 posts)I was reacting to the initial report
He was actually sentenced to more but some will be served concurrently and some consecutively
It will add 3.5 years to his previous sentence
I thought the judge gave him 3.5 altogether
I got it wrong
I concede

(48,955 posts)Assuming you are talking about Manafort. OP was not courteous enough to provide context.

(25,428 posts)"First, Jackson said, the conspiracy count against Manafort in DC overlapped with conduct hed already been sentenced for in Virginia. Because of that, she said, much of her new sentence for that count 2 and a half years had to be served concurrently with the existing Virginia sentence."

(43,153 posts)I'm glad at least the majority (that 3.5 years) will be consecutive on the other 4 years as opposed to concurrent. And now he has more headaches to deal with in New York state, so I'll take it.
Will be interested what happens tomorrow with Roger Stone.
