Why did BOTH judges comment on NO RUSSIAN COLLUSION? Seems like it gives the reTHUGS talking points? Just saying.

(25,462 posts)Judge Jackson made a point to note that the claim was irrelevant, because this trial had nothing to do with charges of collusion.

(25,241 posts)Mueller hasn't completed the 'collusion/conspiracy' aspects of this yet. Manafort can still be subject to 'collusion/conspiracy' before this is over.
The two sentences of Manafort - last week and today - were of offenses not related to any 'collusion' issues.

(2,146 posts)I was replying to the OP...asked why each Judge mentioned it...NOT Mueller

(3,344 posts)Ellis was an ASS, whose comments were out of line.
The judge today was fantastic, explicitly saying the truth. The case did not involve charges of collusion. It is her explicit statement that made Manafort's lawyer's statement today so comically bad.
Besides, Republicans are going to be assholes no matter what. Don't blame our side for their behavior.

(16,906 posts)Just that the judge could have NOT mentioned it?

(1,603 posts)Went out of her way to mention that talk of collusion by Manafort's lawyers was wrong, pointless, groundless; and that this case had nothing to do with charges of collusion, and that Downing's talk of collusion after the last sentencing was a "non-sequitur."
Then Downing went outside and spoke to the crowd, and blatantly lied, saying the judge had ruled there was no collusion -- an outright, easily provable, 100% lie.
Read the transcript when it's available (I'm not sure if it is yet.) She shut down the collusion talk for anyone who actually cares about facts. We know Downing doesn't.
