Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) opted for an odd word choice in his statement about the mosque massacre in New Zealand, saying there are courts, dispute resolutions, and legislatures to resolve controversies there is no place for cold blooded murders.
It is unclear what controversy Gohmert is responding to that could have been settled in a courtroom, as the shooter seems to have been motivated by his white supremacy ideology and desire to quash immigration worldwide. A spokeswoman for Gohmert did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Forty-nine people have died so far from the shooting, and dozens more are injured.
Read Gohmerts full statement here:
The shootings at the New Zealand mosques are egregiously reprehensible. The shooters need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law along with anyone who knowingly aided their efforts in any way. There are courts, dispute resolutions, and legislatures to resolve controversies there is no place for cold blooded murders. Though New Zealand does not have the death penalty, hopefully its people, through their justice system, will send the message loudly and clearly that such barbarity from anyone will not be tolerated.

Gohmie is big on ID.
Or, it could just be a ridiculous choice of words. It is Gohmert, after all.
