The only difference is that it's Trump. Other people look like him. Saying he looks disgusting and is worthy of ridicule for how he looks is hurtful to others.

Some of us are just built that way. Even as a thin teenager, I could see that I was "fleshy" there & would eventually develop whatever-that-thing-is-called, just like my grandmother. Now that I'm aging, it's showing.

I hate Trump as much as anybody here, but that kind of insult hurts.

And one way to fight oppression is to develop a thick skin and a sharp tongue and to learn to defend yourself. If someone insults me they pay a price. If someone insults Trump I think he deserves it.

that anti-fat rhetoric is justified even if it hurts other people would never say Trump's "as dumb as a (racial slur)" because (a) they don't use racial slurs and (b) using racial slurs hurts other people.

Anti-fat rhetoric is bigoted, and using it against people we don't like contributes to the oppression of fat people who are our friends and allies.
