Trump reminds me of MacAurther after Truman fired him.

MacAurther was a national hero when Truman fired him. A lot of people thought he ought to run for president and he addressed a joint meeting of congress. Truman chose to ignore him while the general held court from some fancy hotel. Every day he’d come out a spew a more and more irrational statement. After awhile even his supporters came to see how unhinged he’d become and his support eroded. We can only hope Trumps delusional tweeting will ultimately have the same effect.

that the media was generally more balanced back in the 1950s. Nowadays, Trump has Fox News, One America, Sinclair Broadcasting, Right Wing Radio and newspapers telling Trump supporters that every unhinged rant, be it at a pep rally or a tweet, is a thing of genius.
