And Im sure Barr will agree with the WH, Congress will disagree, and SCOTUS will side with the WH.

Washington (CNN)White House lawyers expect to have an opportunity to review whatever version of Robert Mueller's report Attorney General Bill Barr submits to Congress before it reaches lawmakers and the public, multiple sources familiar with the matter said, setting up a potential political battle over the hotly anticipated document.
The attorneys want the White House to have an opportunity to claim executive privilege over information drawn from documents and interviews with White House officials, the sources said.
The White House's review of executive privilege claims are within its legal purview, but could set up a political battle over the perception President Donald Trump is trying to shield certain information from the public about an investigation that has swirled around him since the first day of his presidency.
Justice Department lawyers could advise him against certain assertions if they don't feel it's legally defensible. If Trump does assert executive privilege, the decision could be litigated in court if it's challenged, which Democrats would almost certainly do.

(23,002 posts)When copies pop up they will say those themselves are the edited ones. It's all for naught it seems. The gop got two+ years of obfustication out of it, and it wont see the light of day for years. Aka the pentagon papers.

(3,335 posts)I'm sure Bill Clinton would have liked to have taken his affair with Monica to his grave, but Ken Starr wasn't about to let that happen. So why shouldn't Trump's dirty laundry be aired as well. If it's a "Witch Hunt", we'll all know soon enough. If it turns out to not be a "Which Hunt", Trump has spent 2 years de-legitimizing the men and women of the Justice Dept. Where do those people go to get their reputation's back if everything is kept under wraps?
Recall that Sally Yates was fired for simply doing her job by notifying the Justice Dept that Michael Flynn had secret discussions with the Russians and then lied about it.
Trump has been trying to undermine this investigation from the start because he knew he was guilty of colluding with the Russians to sway the outcome of the Election. The truth needs to come out. NOW!!!!!! He shouldn't be allowed to tie this up in courts for the next several years.

(15,805 posts)Trump is the subject of Mueller's investigation, the Defendent. Since when does the prosecutor allow the defendent to edit the evidence report and redact everything that might incriminate him?
