This.

To be a likable woman candidate just follow these simple rules: Don’t be old, don’t be young, don’t be middle aged, don’t be serious, don’t be funny, don’t be loud, don’t be quiet, smile more, don’t smile too much, don’t wear that, or that, here is a Handmaid’s costume.

Don't appear to be taking Republican ridiculousness less than dead serious. Don't talk about your family background. Don't hide anything. Don't appear to be hiding anything. Don't show any expertise for an issue you've studied for decades.

BUT...let me begin with the salvo that although we are liberal cultural warriors, each with a cherished cause, we must NOT devolve into divisive wrangling over the very social diversity that defines us. E Pluribus Unum!

As a father of 3 daughters (no sons)--2 of whom have mixed race families--, the uncle of 5 nieces (one nephew), the grandfather of 4 granddaughters (one grandson), and husband of a strong, smart woman who has exemplified the very best as a working mother and wife, I am very well attuned to the institutionalized "isms" that those I share my life with face. I face those obstacles alongside them.

While my experience has imbued me with a preference for the character and qualities of strong, steady, and persistent women in all situations--especially challenging ones--my mind and arms are open in embrace of WHICHEVER Democratic Party candidate prevails, regardless of race, creed, gender, orientation, or any other factor. Every single Democratic candidate expresses my liberal values--some more than others--than ANYTHING the Republican Party might muster in the way of a conservative option.

I admire the passion of all in the DU family, and our passions have certainly been stirred and called to action. To save our nation we must keep an open mind to ideas and experiences, as well as personalities and all the other qualities that converge to define the face and spirit of our party.

Please stop already the hyperbolic gender wars, race wars, class wars... Everyone has a point; which candidate best embraces all points--and can WIN?

I have done nothing of the sort. I am highlighting how women are defined. I was not the one that said women are not "likable". That is being said all over the Primary forum. It is not an exaggeration on my part it is a fact and they are the ones that need to stop.

Fact is the tweet I posted is the truth.

Fact is this is exactly what the GOP thinks of us.

The Group that wants to regulate women's bodies.

Is there something wrong with this White House photo?

Even this tired old white guy can see that women candidates have been attacked for every single characteristic contained in the OP.
Enough is enough.

I sincerely hope the Democratic nominee is female. I will vote the issues but if everything else is equal it is time for a woman!
