Tariffs made a big dent in the price they could sell their goods pluse cut off some markets. But behind it all is the fact that huge farm subsidies were carrying them any way. The only farmers ever really hurt by tariffs and environmental events have been small minority farmers. The big ones declare backruptcy and get right back into the business of growing or not growing. Trump has made the rackett even more profitable ... but hush...don't tell anyone. If you haven't figured out why these farmers still support Trump even though his tariffs have practically ruined them...think about or find out about the kind of subsidies they have been receiving. The food industry is not suffering much at all. That's why you keep paying more for less in all those packaged items.

Oh, BTW, my cousin twice removes (2nd cousin) is a farmer owned by his FIL. They are laughing all the way to the bank. Twice filed for bankruptcy. (iowa)
