Do Trump fans know that we had other presidents before Obama?

I mean if you don't see my point, try arguing with one. Bring up stuff from history and see how it gets tied to Obama. For instance anything about the economy. About religion. About the border. About guns. If it's possible to tie anything back to Obama they will do it.

But if you mention that that certain thing may have happened under Bush, Reagan, Ford, Nixon, and so on, it's pretty much the end of the argument. Like they have a 404 error on any history before 2009. Is this a product of Fox mental conditioning or the fact that they don't remember or care about history, or is it something else?

Too much cognitive dissonance for them to handle when facts/history don't support their beliefs. alwaysinasnit Mar 2019 #2

Can't hold that much data.

It's kind of the way Megyn Kelly dismisses anything that happened before she was born as unimportant.

It's like they never took American history in high school. A great example of this is how many the social programs we have today, are the result of the ramifications of the great depression, where people were hurting, but the present thinking was that the government shouldn't get involved. You explain that to them, and they look at you with a blank expression on their face.

have little or no sense of history. For one thing, news, all news, is generally without much context. A story gets reported and that's it. There's rarely any follow-up, or when something new happens, there's rarely a recap of what went before.

Plus, history is often badly taught in school. That doesn't help.
