(73,510 posts)keep in mind that Barr did that out of loyalty to Bush the Elder. In the decades since, he has remained loyal to the Bush family. And the Bush family is not pro-Trump.

(7,845 posts)Put him under oath for a number of reasons. I do not think he was pressured to end early. But I'm curious why he didn't interview Trump, or put him in front of the grand jury. Did he want to, but was stopped by the DOJ? There are hundreds of important questions.
I think he had passed a lot of cases to three other districts. He began doing so, when he recognized Trump wanted to fire him. Even if his part is done, there's much more to come.

But he has dealt with much smarter and more dangerous crooks than Trump.
We are in a good position. Indeed, that's why Trump was barking about "not understanding" why a man who got no votes gets to write a report.

The AG cannot shut down a special counsel.

(115,607 posts)I was afraid people would start freaking out and getting all conspiratorial and assuming facts not in evidence. And sure enough... But there's nothing Barr can do to stop what's been set in motion, and I feel confident that the House Judiciary Committee will make sure that the contents of the report will be made public.
