and even if Mueller had been successful, Trump lies like a rug so his testimony probably wouldn't have been useful.

2. Lots of loose wording going around today. "Accepted" does not mean what you may be implying.

I doubt Mueller took tRump's word. He "accepted" the written testimony in that his office stamped the papers Received.

I don't doubt that Mueller thought that going through all the legal hoops to force tRump to testify orally was not worth it because in the end tRump's testimony would be full of lies anyway and essentially useless.

I was not implying that he (Mueller) believed it to be the truth! We all know tRUMP lies every day! I guess perjury is perjury whether written or spoken right?

6. I suspect if Trump's testimony contains clearly false statements (ie perjury), it is easier to prove

from written testimony than oral testimony anyway, given how rambling and self-interrupting Trump's speaking style is.

Given that Trump's testimony is worthless (because it is inevitably going to be a stew of empty, meaningless, and lies), there isn't much point in pursuing the matter. Ask him to testify so he can't complain you never asked for his side of the story, take his written answers instead, and move on with all the evidence you got from elsewhere.

9. What would have been the point? The best they could get would be a perjury charge

because Trump is nothing but a pathological liar. His testimony is less than worthless. Not worth an endless fight.
