EVERYONE: 1) Calm down. 2) Breathe. 3) Accept the mystery (for now.)

Right now it's pandemonium. A lot of hair on fire posts, a lot of running around. A lot of people insisting that Trump has gotten away with murder.

It's time to calm down, breathe, and....in the words of a terrific movie (A Serious Man)…."Accept the mystery."

What does today's news mean?

We don't know.

Really, that's it.

We don't know.

Mueller, himself, is done. That's it. That's all.

That doesn't mean what is in his report does not recommend further prosecutions by the DOJ. There could be a whole boatload of them for all we know. We don't know. If they do exist, apparently he won't himself be leading them, but that doesn't mean he doesn't see ground for DOJ to take action.

Trump has not gotten away with murder. Trump is still very much on the hot seat, no matter how he wants to frame it. It is impossible to think that with all we know so far that he or members of his family are not caught up to their eyelids in this.

All we know right now is that Mueller himself is done.

That's it.

Everything else is a mystery, and like everything else in this maddening 2 years that we've seen, we have no idea how things will end up.

It's time just to accept that's where we are at right now, and see where it will go, wherever it does.

Accept the mystery.

We do know that none of the family or inner circle were indicted for conspiring with Russia or aiding & abetting.

It's possible that they didn't indict Trump for obstruction, because a President can't be indicted. We don't know about that.

But Trump wouldn't operate in a vacuum. Except for obstruction.

Again, much maligned as it has been, think back to Bill Clinton's famous/infamous "definition of is" quote, which makes a lot more sense than anyone is willing to give it.

"Is" can mean "is" as in is forever. Or "is" can mean "is" as in present tense.

I think we are dealing with the latter.

The baton has been handed off. Whether Barr runs with it or lets it drop we can only wait and see.

13. Mueller is not a political person
Sat Mar 23, 2019, 12:19 AM

Everyone who has worked with him, republican or Democrat has said so.

Right now, we don't know, what we don't know, but it is safe to assume that Mueller fulfilled his mandate and did a thorough job. Investigations continue and there will be indictments, just not from Mueller.

If you are freaking out, take a breath and read Seth Abramson's very comprehensive thread from tonight:

1/ At the risk of sounding like Mike Myers' famous SNL talk-show host Linda Richman, "Mueller's final Trump-Russia report" is neither "Mueller's," final, about "Trump-Russia" or a "report." So all the breathless "reporting" today suggesting otherwise is inaccurate and misleading.

2/ What we call the "Trump-Russia" investigation is a web of criminal, counterintelligence, and Congressional investigations that intersect with the work of the Special Counsel's Office. So there are three key "c"-words here—"criminal," "counterintelligence," and "Congressional."

3/ Special Counsel Mueller is part of the "criminal" investigation; Mueller's work *intersects* with the "counterintelligence" investigation; and his work feeds into and draws from the Congressional investigation. And here's the key: all three of these investigations are ongoing.

4/ As part of the "criminal" investigation, Mueller investigated some things his office then prosecuted; he investigated some things his office handed off to others; he investigated some things he chose not to prosecute; he investigated some things he is letting Congress handle.

If you think the last two years have led to total despair just wait until after the next two years.

I'm just being realistic. I've seen this before. Warren Report. Iran Contra. Iraq War. kavanaugh "investigation". It's all an episode of the apprentice now. All a farce. It always was a farce but at least we kept up the pretense of democracy (lol), freedom (lol), a society (lol). But that's all over now. And it only took a mere 243 years to bring it down. And it was brought down by an orange clown idiot.

Now we're just another also ran. Greatest nation on earth turned out to be the greatest punch line ever spoken. mueller is another fishman. Give up already. It's better than hanging on to "fake hope".

Expect nothing and you'll never be disappointed.

Even when it doesn't!

"If merely feeling good could decide, drunkenness would be the supremely valid human experience. The sway of alcohol over mankind is unquestionably due to its power to stimulate the mystical faculties of human nature, usually crushed to earth by the cold facts and dry criticisms of the sober hour."

Among the mysteries are a number of sealed indictments, don't forget.

I cannot imagine Mueller not having something very substantive to reveal.

19. Mueller's report is like Schrodinger's cat.
Sat Mar 23, 2019, 01:54 PM

In the Schrödinger's cat theory of quantum mechanics, a cat and a dish of poison are placed in a sealed box. Until the box is opened the cat can be thought to be both alive and dead. Once the box is opened the state of the cat is determined to be alive or dead.

Similarly, Mueller's final report is a done deal. Until its contents are revealed publicly, it can be thought of as both incriminating and exculpatory. Once it's made public, Fat Donnie is either screwed or jubilant.

Then it doesn't matter either way.

repubicans are very good at this. They have lots of practice. We keep hoping for an honest one to stand up. mueller was our last hope. he stood up and proved he's as dishonest as the rest of them, IMO.

In the final analysis, mueller is a repubican and you can never trust a fucking repubican.

The Days Of Our Lives. And now, as we anticipate the outcome of the report, having been told by mass media not to expect much, and beginning to believe it, we switch to a new phase of the Days of SDNY - eagerly anticipating the next BIG revelation, sitting by the edge of our chairs eating eggs and drinking our morning coffee.,

The whole thing has been a bad comedy. It’s no longer 1970. What we accepted as values of honesty and integrity, and consequences as a result of behavior, are gone. It’s winner take all at any cost. We’re being conditioned again.

So, here I’ll sit - listening to the pundits continuing their pontificating, and wondering what, if anything of significance will be revealed. It’s all just one big nightmare, because the rules have changed, and we either can’t or don’t want (or are being “conditioned”) to accept the new reality. As the old song goes, “We’re All Just Bozos On This Bus”.

I’m sure we all would like to see justice served because of the vile nature of this idiot president, but we’ve been “conditioned” to accept the fact that money has its own set of rules (haven’t we?) and most of us have fouled out. Good luck to all. Slowly get accustomed to the fact that this fool may rule a second term, and the world is changing, and not necessarily for the better.

Seriously. This is a fucking whitewash (in all its ugly permutations). A total bullshit bunch of pap. I honestly expected more of the guy that bagged the Gambino family kingpin.

But all of them - from Barr to Rosenstein to Mueller are rethugs. They all proved it through and through. They'd rather see this bloated orange gasbag who kisses Putin's dick several times daily and asks permission to jump as high as he can than to retain the integrity of the Republic.

The only mystery left is why we keep ignoring the obvious. No use kidding ourselves any longer.

Never trust a godam repubican. But it's too late now. Doesn't matter anymore if we trust them or not. We trusted them long enough to allow them to take over the entire fucking nation the same way hitler took over Germany in 1933. Now they start running down their enemies list of all their political opponents to permanently end opposition.
