Papadopoulos tweets 'time to hit back' after Mueller report delivered to DOJ

Former Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos tweeted Friday that it was time for President Trump and his allies to "hit back" following the delivery of special counsel Robert Mueller's report to the Justice Department.

In a brief tweet, Papadopoulos joined other Trump supporters in celebrating news that Mueller's team would reportedly not be recommending any further indictments as a result of the nearly two-year investigation into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Papadopoulos, who served a brief prison sentence last year for lying to FBI agents about his contact with individuals linked to Russia during the 2016 campaign, has remained a staunch supporter of the president since his release. He has repeatedly condemned Mueller's investigation that led to charges against him as corrupt.

“I NEVER flipped against the president. What I did do, however, is expose the corruption of this ‘investigation’ for the world to see. The legacy is what matters now, how history remembers these days. Silence during these critical days was never an option. All must be exposed,” he tweeted in November.
