Some thoughts on today's developements

It appears that Mueller was never able to get the direct link between Trump and the Russians. However, unless you want to take the idea that the president can do anything with the executive branch he wants, it seems to me that there is good evidence for obstruction of justice. The DOJ rule is not to indict a sitting president. Does that mean that if they have enough evidence to indict for obstruction, it won't be in the report. This may be the thing that decides whether Trump is impeached or not. Even if he is not impeached, Trump could very likely go into the 2020 election a very wounded incumbent.

Take heart in this;

A recent poll stated that 55% percent of respondents said they would not vote for him for reelection.

A recent poll stated that 38% percent of respondents said that he should be reelected.

This is before the Mueller report.

Unless we nominate a really bad candidate in 2020, he should be beaten.

1. Seems he will get away with obstruction of justice

Our only recourse is the voting booth. Many question the sanctity of our votes. I do. Of course I will always vote no matter the the doubt.

Go Dems.

2. If this is all that we are going to get on Trump...

If this is all that we are going to get on Trump I would bet that 55% number of not voting for him will shrink dramatically. If they can block the report from the public successfully and there is very little more to come he is going to crow and brag and run this up the flag pole as an I told you so.

But we dont know what all will come of this in the neat future. Tonight it is gut wrenching to say the least.
