Watching Rachel tonight steadied my nerves.

Rachel isn't falling for the bullshit.

She says we know a little right now, none of which points to Mueller Time being flatter than piss on a plate.

Interestingly, she noted that all counterintelligence findings must, by law, be turned over to the House/Senate intelligence committees.

Be of good cheer, and make more popcorn.

“The Sky is Falling!” Thanks for your post, I didn’t see Rachel’s show but she makes a lot of sense.

Something happens that isn't all rainbows and fuzzy kitties and unicorns, and people go nuts before they even know what actually happened. Makes me want to drink heavily until the ranting stops.

...when the news broke, and I realized that she is brighter than he is. Brighter and better prepared. Ha!

Frank Figluzzi was one of her guests, and one of his comments (before the news broke) really struck me. We all know Trump has spent two solid years defaming the DOJ and the intelligence services.

Trump's new trope is that the people "persecuting" him were never elected, so they have no right to go after him, and "his people" will never stand for it.

Figluzzi put his finger right on it: these are the words and ideas of the Sovereign Citizens. Just to make it perfectly clear to his listeners, Fig said that if a traffic cop pulls over a Sovereign Citizen, that guy is likely to shoot the cop. Because they don't recognize the authority of the cops because they are not elected. Sheriffs are elected. Etc.

Just let that sink in. Fig looked quite concerned.

Anyhow, skipped most of Chuck Todd because someone stopped by, and we don't care for him anyway. Ended up waiting for Rachel, who was outstanding. The guests for Nicolle, Rachel, and Brian Williams were also outstanding.

Oh -- Adam Schiff was on and in answer to a question outlined a comprehensive plan for what Congress can do if Trump and/or Barr decide to be uncooperative. He just reeled it all out, quite calmly. If this, then that, and that, and that. No stress, no mess. No handwringing. No anger. Just a man who knows his job quite thoroughly and is prepared to do it.
Found it here. https://www.democraticunderground.com/1017536169

Periodically I would come back to DU, and it was a bit of an insane asylum. Good Lord 'n' butter. I wanted to throw my iPad across the room. Thank you for your post.

I simply can't accept that I live in a universe where the report concludes there was no obstruction of justice (at the very least). There were dozens of public examples a week for the past two years.

And if the report isn't recommending indictments it's because Mueller's conclusion is that it's the job of Congress to take it from here. The next step is public hearings where Don Jr and Jared and Ivanka and all the other bottom feeders are dragged out and exposed on a daily basis from now until the next election. And SDNY and EDV indictments. And investigations into the Trump organisation.

Nobody is walking away scot free just because the Special Counsel's Office didn't indict them.

and soooooo relieved that she was! I loved and appreciated that she wanted to be there for us (and even stopped fishing for this!). She soothed many fraggled nerves tonight methinks.

She is the one news person I count on to spell it out and be straight with me, and I do not miss her (the DVR is set to record her show daily). I usually watch Lawrence O'Donnell after her, but if I only have time for one, it's always Rachel. She helps keep me sane.

Thank you for this thread.

I can guarantee you that much of the hand wringing and freakout is artificial.

"Nothingburger" and "democrats in despair" is a narrative the right is desperately pushing at this point.

They are, in reality, crapping their pants.
