We need to be 100% crystal clear whether Mueller and Company decided not to pursue whatever indictments they demurred on because:
1) they were stonewalled from obtaining/verifying damning evidence of the charges being investigated from uncooperative/obstructive people/companies (something I am 99% sure of).
2) they truly could not find any such evidence or even a path to where such evidence would be found (HIGHLY doubtful to me; we saw what only makes sense as obstruction being committed out in the open by Spanky and his goons but I am not a lawyer).
I think having every detail of the report made public that would not compromise national security would make explanation (1) crystal clear and show that, no, Trump is not innocent or vindicated. If we hammer hard enough on that point and try to investigate thoroughly ourselves we might also be able to ingrain just how corrupt Spanky and his admin are in the minds of the majority of people outside the Fox/MAGA cult.

(988 posts)Remember the purpose of the investigation was not to indict the president since this was not allowed.
The purpose was to investigate the Russian interference and if trump or his campaign had any play in that.
Mueller could have in his report the details of that conspiracy that he could not bring against the president.
Barr cant come out and say... there where no further indictments so case closed. It started with no indictments of the president.

(10,123 posts)None of it surprised. Ken Starr felt Trump folks should be "celebrating"
They advocated the DOJ policy of not revealing details about those who are not indicted as I expected and as Rosenstein's letter to Grassley stated "We also have a duty to prevent the disclosure of information that would unfairly tarnish people who are not charged with crimes."
The only way to get "100% crystal clear whether Mueller and Company decided not to pursue whatever indictments they demurred " will be by the House fighting for that information. It is unlikely to in Barr's release of the report.
