President Donald Trump railed against special counsel Robert Mueller's now-completed investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election on Wednesday, calling it an "attempted takeover of our government."
"We can never allow this treasonous, these treasonous acts to happen to another President," Trump told Fox News' Sean Hannity, in his first TV interview since Attorney General William Barr summarized the principal findings of Mueller's report in a memo to Congress on Sunday.

(1,770 posts)Trumpy is gaslighting to set the pretense for suspension of the Constitution. He says that (unidentified) officials are committing treason if they favored the investigation. He says that they need to be punished. He says that they are trying to pull off a coup, then that is exactly what he did. So he's gaslighting and lying to insulate himself from being perceived as the agent who is doing exactly what he is accusing others of doing. How he thinks that this is clever is beyond reason, but he's beyond reason. Anyway, there's a strong likelihood that his Fanboys will go balls to the wall in backing him up and showing their hate for Trumpy's opponents. That's what this is all about. By making these outrageous allegations, he's keeping his base unified and ready to follow his orders. He has no interest in any reality test of his allegations. He doesn't have to. He has his Fanboys to validate every lie he utters.
I wonder how many of his dyed-in-the-wool Fanboys are using the ACA for their health needs. I suggest that his Fanboys be taunted into quitting their ACA-linked health insurance and go without, as a powerful way to show their support for their Trumpy.

IMO, the nation is on the precipice of complete disintegration. The GOP is STILL backing up this crazy man who is doing all he can to become a dictator. This is serious. The GOP is doing nothing to stop him, and many are doing a lot to enable him. The GOP, nearly as a body of politicians, is truly seditious and revolutionary in their enabling of Trumpy to take sole control of government.
Yes, the Dems can do their duty in the House, but they are the ONLY bastion of rationality left in all of the structures of government. Trumpy has taken over everything else. Maybe parts of the Justice system are still active, but parts of the DOJ is now proving to be under the thumb of Trumpy. This is terrible news that's getting worse by the week.
Some of the Fourth Estate are relentless in their pursuit of Constitutional government, but Trumpy has his own network of gaslighters in electronic media. And they are very powerful. Let's face it, folks. This is already an epic battle, all being played on Twitter and Fox News. And it's not clear whether or not Trumpy's opponents are winning control of government. Indeed, there is a lot of evidence suggesting otherwise.

(1,376 posts)Trump appointed Sessions; Trump appointed Rosenstein...
So apparently this is yet more proof - after Flynn, Manafort, Gates, Cohen, etc. - that Trump has no managerial expertise when it comes to hiring people.
Thanks; good to know.
What a fucking idiot. He HIRED all of these people.
