If rabble rousing support for his "emergency" dictum sounds like a conspiracy theory, well let's at least relegate it to a part of a possibility in the big picture.
If the many different PARTS of egregious acts and policies that SHITLER is being emboldened more and more to do, how conspiratorial or hysterical does it sound that what we have here is a SHITLER and his cartel mob and Deplorables who are *WAGING WAR* on this country and democracy?
Somebody/anybody, feel free to convince me that this is far fetched: I'm willing to be soothed or lulled into feeling better. Tia.

Brownsville City Manager Noel Bernal said today that U.S. Customs and Border Protection told him that approximately 5,600 migrants would be released in Brownsville, Harlingen and McAllen over the next few days. ....
The mass releases began last week in McAllen and started in Brownsville on Tuesday. ... ....
However, there was a new dynamic today, Bernal said, explaining that 19 people released in Brownsville were running fevers and were treated at the hospital and released.
Mayor Tony Martinez said Border Patrol is not allowed to release sick migrants into the public. ....

EL PASO Homeland Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen made a brief visit to the Texas border Thursday as authorities began releasing detained migrant families onto the streets of the Rio Grande Valley almost immediately after they crossed into the U.S., saying they didn't have enough space in facilities to accommodate soaring numbers. ....
"To mitigate risks to both officer safety and vulnerable populations under these circumstances, and due to limited bed space, CBP will begin releasing families in the RGV [Rio Grande Valley] Sector with a Notice to Appear (NTA) / Own Recognizance (OR)," CBP said in a statement.
Critics of the administration say the release of hundreds of migrants onto the streets of the Valley, something that has been happening in El Paso since October, seems timed to beef up President Donald Trump's assertion that there is an "invasion" crisis.

.... The Border Patrol issued a statement Thursday announcing its decision, which followed the lead of officials in the Rio Grande Valley in south Texas, who last week began releasing families from their custody.
"U.S. Border Patrol processing centers are not designed to house the current numbers of families and small children that we are encountering," the Border Patrol's Yuma sector said in a written statement. "Due to capacity issues at our stations and the ongoing humanitarian crisis nationwide, Border Patrol has begun identifying detainees for potential release in Yuma with a notice to appear for their immigration hearings." ....

(33,643 posts)Now, supposedly, it's a huge, frightening crisis because we've resumed ... doing what we always did?
Yeah, okay.
I don't know why we wouldn't use ankle monitors for the head of each family though. Seems like a reasonable compromise with the paranoids who think every refugee is out to disappear into the woodwork and never show up for court.
BTW what happened to our agreement with Mexico where they were going to hold people for us til their immigration hearings?
Also, I bet if Trump was to ask for, say $6B from Democrats to improve the facilities along the border ... they could probably be talked into THAT.

(33,643 posts)lettuce and strawberries in the hot, dusty, chemical-laden fields, working at concrete factories, washing dishes in steamy restaurant kitchens ... ya know, the kinda stuff that millions of US Citizens (especially white people) actually TOTALLY want to go out and do, so ... there is THAT!

(70,494 posts)If what's being referred to in these posts is "catch and release", call me uninformed if this was done in mass numbers at once into streets, since I think there were specific addresses and destinations involved. The undocumented immigrants distinguishable from these mass releases were hell bent on avoiding being apprehended.
mr_lebowski
(33,643 posts)Ergo, no mass numbers were ever built up, like they are now.
However, presumably, the ones they'll choose to release will be the ones who've established they 'have a place to go', that would only be logical. So it's likely pretty much the same reasoning involved as it always was. There's was just no huge backlog involved like there is now.

I am certainly not a scholar in this or almost any topic, only bounce out what filters down to my level of Generalities, but I'm pretty sure that we Democratic partisans subscribe to the concept of Human Rights for all (no "illegal" human beings).
And as for the people being processed through the ports of entry, who are the ones being dumped into the streets, these are not exactly "undocumented" either, since they are presenting themselves at the ports of entry or to border agents and asking for lawful refugee status and being issued some sort of "document" - very different from those who have done all they could to avoid being apprehended.
My conspiracy theory regards the "huge backlog" that has miraculously developed to coincide with SHITLER's "emergency" dictum.
mr_lebowski
(33,643 posts)But I believe the 'gist' of what's happening here is the same as it was for decades ... but it's happening in concentrated numbers because a backlog has purposefully been developed under Trump, due to changing of past rules, and the lack of PLANNING AND FINANCING ... for what the logical outcome of these f***ing dumb new policies would BE.
So now ... huge groups released at once ... didn't HAVE to happen that way, but ... it 'conveniently' does, for maximum propaganda and fear effect, and red meat for Faux ...

(10,072 posts)Or the rabble they rouse are voters and protesters against RepubliCON oligarchs.
I mean we use to let these suffering souls across the border on a regular basis. Without the constant immigration, the US would have no cheap labor to pick your food, clean your restaurants, hotels and offices and slaughter your farm animals. Then all those super rich RepubliCON oligarchs couldn't make as much profits off their scams.
UTUSN
(70,494 posts)the cheap labor angle of things, but I hope you're correct that our ever apathetic constituent groups *do* get roused to vote.
The current ones being "released" are very different, since many/most? of them are presenting themselves at ports of entry or surrendering to border agents in order to apply for refugee status - in a sense, are being DOCUMENTED at least as far as being issued an application. The other ones largely from before did all they could to avoid being apprehended and were totally UNdocumented - and, yes, were HIRED by Big Business and agriculture/"government subsidized".
