Young people are so naive and unaware - I'd demand an ID before getting in to any car.
Uber and the rest of them are not for old folks like me.

You know, like the ones that required all the cabs to be painted a certain color, and have certain markings on them.

Glad we could ditch all those to save a couple of dollars on cab fare.....

There is a historical tragedy just like this one.

People thought that cab regulations were meant to protect the cab companies. They were wrong.

They were meant to protect passengers.

(disclosure: I spent 28 years in the business in my youth)

completely - we've had enough horror stories on this little island. I never get into a taxi with an unidentified driver.

to have a taxi medallion they were far more likely to not want to lose all that money they had invested. It made it much safer for customers in the long run.

I would never ride share, I value my life. jmho

And I could see the car coming to my location via the app.

I'm confused as to how this happened.

her alertness with regard to self preservation. Poor girl just went into the wrong car with a predator who has probably done this before. I can't imagine her fear and terror

Nathaniel Rowland charged with murder, kidnapping of USC student Samantha Josephson

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has charged a man with murder and kidnapping in the disappearance of University of South Carolina student Samantha Josephson.

During a news conference broadcast by local media Saturday evening, Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook said that 24-year-old Nathaniel David Rowland had been charged after a joint investigation by the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office, SLED and Columbia police.

Florida (Daytona to Universal Studios and Universal Studios to another hotel).

I have to admit it was white knuckle for us here in Iowa. They sent all relevant information (name of driver and license plate).

I am still amazed that my two sister in laws went across Europe when they were in college. This little venture nearly killed me.
