...my guess is yes. The Repubs are masters of cover-ups--the 1968 election, the 1980 election, Iran-Contra, the Valerie Plame Affair, etc, etc. It was only the existence of the tapes that permitted Watergate to be fully exposed, and that taught them a lesson--never allow yourselves to be caught red-handed like that again. They've followed that script to the letter. As for Barr...I still find it hard to believe he's explicitly lying. I think it's more twisting the evidence as far as it will go, making a deeply misleading statement, and depending on the media to put his spin on it. I think they hoped that the full report would never be totally released, or when it was that no one would look at the fine print--another cover-up tactic that goes back at least as far as the Warren Report...

including Watergate (no Russian involvement).
hopefully it fails. it's this uncertainty that has had me reeling since the release of the report and the subsequent crush of hypocritical propaganda catapulting. i haven't even been able to watch tv news.
