Gov. Scott withdraws from RNC activities ahead of Isaac

ST. PETERSBURG --
Gov. Rick Scott has announced he will pull out of his Republican National Convention activities, including his speech scheduled for Monday night in Tampa.

Scott said his focus is on being the governor of Florida and he needed to focus on Tropical Storm Isaac's advance on the state. He added that the state is closely monitoring the storm as it moves near the Florida Keys and into the Gulf of Mexico.

The governor said it is a real possibility the storm could have a Category 2 hurricane landfall on the Florida panhandle.
