Why does the press allow this?

Trump today made a fool of himself further on the Charlottesville failures of himself and his administration, but the REAL story is the nonsense he spouts and NEVER gets challenged on from the press...

Trump on Robert E. Lee: "Whether you like it or not, he was one of the great generals." Then claims active duty generals told him Lee was their "favorite general."

OK, so first off EVERYONE knows is a favorite trope of Trump's sick mind...right up there with literally everything he touches, talks about or is involved with being the "greatest/biggest of all-time, maybe perhaps in forever".

That is bad enough, but it is more of a verbal tic than an affront to the truth any more...we KNOW he is a pathological liar and narcissist, but the bolded part above is what bugs me more...

WHO are these "active duty generals"?
Will they confirm that they met with you to discuss Civil War generals and monuments?
Where are they stationed?
Do these "active generals" frequently converse with the President regarding non-military mission topics?
Did they offer this up to you or were you asking them leading questions?
Under what conversation did the President of the United States engage the generals of the people's army in spit-balling about Robert E. Lee, the Civil War and ranking of US generals in history?
Did any of them seem to be on the verge of secessionist reverence for the criminal Lee?
Who was their second favorite general - Stonewall Jackson, Benedict Arnold (ok...NOT a general, but you understand the question, right?)?
What was their position on Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan leadership and generals? (somewhat more contemporaneous concerns of note for an active duty to discuss and opine on for his Commander in Chief, no?

Challenge that bucket of pus to NAME NAMES when he lies like that, make him stammer, make him retreat, make him angry, make him look like the fool he is...STOP letting him say patently untrue things to your faces and then act like it was not a lie. 10,000+ lies in 2+ years and ZERO guts from the assembled "media". These people are lucky I am not their editor or boss, they'd be out on their asses and unemployable in the industry for being such hacks.

Yeah, biased media? What a load of shit...

Should not take ad hoc press conferences. They should insist and orderly conferences rather than contribute the chaos that Trump creates in these one sided talks to press just before jumping on a helicopter

For a dude who lost the war he was fighting.

At least he didn't say their favorite was George Custer. But that will probably come next week in front of a different audience.

Dozens of reporters are forced to shout questions at him.

We only hear clip of his answers to one or two questions that he deigns to answer.

We don't hear the other questions being asked. He ignores most.

So stop beating up on the reporters.

Knock it off.

A measure to strengthen reporters covering the White House against abuse and intimidation by the politicos of the press office and the occupants of the West Wing.

So they now show up on the White House web site, rather than the moribund press briefings, under the title (trying to sound legitimate) "Briefings and Statements":

https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/remarks-president-trump-marine-one-departure-40/

along with such obvious lying titles as "FACT SHEETS: President Donald J. Trump is Defending Our Sovereignty and Constitutional Rights From the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty" ("Fact?" Trump wouldn't know a fact if he swallowed it in a KFC binge. An example of their "facts": "The United States export controls have long been considered the gold standard for engaging in responsible arms trading and we will continue to use them under our own laws". Fuck me, he's arming Mohammed Bone Saw, and he thinks that's "responsible". The only thing it's responsible for is making him money.)

Trump and his handlers are ten times more Media Savy as any of the Reporters yelling at him.

These are Glam shots for Trump and he plays it to the max.

But the thing I cannot stand is the entire White House Press Corp playing along with this nonsense for the last 4 years now (2 as a candidate and 2 as stand-in POTUS). NOTHING changes. They cover him like a legitimate politician but his behavior and casual acceptance of lying as legitimate communication is never really put to him.

They should all - every damn one of them, even the worthless cretins from Fox and the radio wasteland - simply demand answers to questions AND follow-ups - especially when positive claims are made (like "active duty generals telling me...&quot .

It just irks me to no end to see this ass clown fuck-wad POS run he same scam he ran on the tabloid press in NYC for decades come to DC and do the same shit to the WH Press Corp.

notice what I have seen for decades when it comes to Trump F--ing over the Press.

Having had a family member involved with Entertainment and doing Script Writing as well as some one Air Production work for a couple local TV Stations in the Mid West. He will have zero positive opinion of today's over paid so called Reporter's working the DC News .

Trump is eating these suckers Lunch, and the one he likes to dig is Acosta because he tends to do some push back, and Deranged Donald loves it,just enhances Glam, even though it exposes his total dislike of the Media in general unless it is a wet kiss on his fat ass.
