Emails Show How Taxpayers Pay at Mar-a-Lago
May 1, 2019 at 7:19 am EDT By Taegan Goddard
The premium liquor costs are only the beginning of government spending at Mar-a-Lago that emerges in hundreds of pages of receipts and email correspondence between Trump Organization employees and staffers for the State Department, which oversees presidential diplomatic travel and works with the Secret Service and White House. The emails show that the presidents company refused to agree to what was essentially a bulk-purchase agreement with the federal government, and that it charged the maximum allowable federal rate for hotel rooms. The Trump Organization could be obstinate when it came to rates for, say, function rooms at Mar-a-Lago, a problem that was eased when the president signed a law lifting the maximum micro-purchase the government can make.

How Taxpayers Covered a $1,000 Liquor Bill for Trump Staffers (and More) at Trumps Club
A top-shelf, closed-door drinking session. $546-a-night hotel rooms. A special government credit card for Mar-a-Lago. Taxpayers foot the costs and the president profits.

(4,341 posts)at the similarities in the corruption of both regimes.
This is typical of Banana Republics, it is the same business model...This is slowly but surely, becoming a kleptocracy, and those repubs who are leaking the buffoon's balls are ripping monetary benefits as well, the FBI must investigate.
For one, the government should not be permitted to spend any money in the buffoon's properties, it is a conflict of interest. There are so many places where government officials can host events, why are they allowed to use the buffoon's properties?

(428 posts)There is no shortage of material out there to be used in ads, we just need to make sure whoever our nominee is does not have advisers who tell them they need to take the high road or not attack or whatever.
We cannot get by with gauzy, feel good puff piece ads for our candidate. Those are all well and good, and we definitely need good policies, but if anyone thinks we are going to win by that alone and not by hitting things like this over and over and over again, then we are going to be in for a rude awakening.
