Todd can't excuse away most of what the Republicans do, but his show is committed to keeping them in power, so he never misses an opportunity to draw false equivalencies between us and the Republicans, inculcating insidious lies that Democrats are just as bad. Disinform, misinform, demoralize, confuse, defeat.
Looking at Continetti, I also found this for today:
Speaking on Fox News Channel's Special Report Tuesday, Continetti urged the Republican White House to focus on the Russian threat to the lawful government of Venezuela.
"I think the administration needs to train its criticism on Russia," he said. "If you look at the Russian actions from the military flights to Venezuela, to inserting the so-called little green men, these kind of non-uniformed paramilitary officers, to sending formal military advisers and assistance to Maduro, Russia is clearly trying to overthrow the Monroe Doctrine."

It'd probably be of benefit to our nation if Republicans replaced their new admiration for Putin and longing for their own strongman with their old fear of Russia. I'm serious. Strong conservatives must always have an enemy to fight. It was after the Cold War, when they lost their huge external existential enemy, that people like Newt Gingrich and their wealthy puppetmasters were able to turn them on an internal existential threat to our nation's survival, the Democratic Party. They've been tearing our country apart ever since. Divide and conquer.
