(2,785 posts)and I'm having thoughts that maybe the house of representatives should consider impeaching a couple of Senators too. Maybe Graham and McConnell for their constant obstruction and lying. Yes I know the Senate will never vote to convict a fellow Senator, but this senate would never vote to convict any republican period. So this will be about issuing an historical penalty. How ironic would it be if some of those republicans involved in the Clinton impeachment ended their careers with their own impeachment for covering for the crimes of Trump which are 1,000 worse than what Clinton did.

(2,785 posts)William Blount in 1797. The Senate didn't want to vote to convict one of their own on impeachment so they decided to vote to expel him instead, but the fact that the house of representatives did impeach him shows that house of representatives does have the constitutional authority to impeach a U.S. Senator.

(15,226 posts)I doubt a phone call or video conference with Trump is a rare event in Trumps office.
How can it get worse? At some point Trump and company will have to be removed from office after he ignores election results. He already refuses separation of coequal branches of government. 2020 will not be a good year

(261 posts)If we dont react to this attempt to subvert the legislative branch of the government, then we are in trouble. At the very least, we need to call it exploratory impeachment hearings, to gain more weight in fighting their blocking of subpoenas and attendance at hearings. Time to react.
