But less on average.

For a variety of reasons.

Lower costs per year.

Fewer years in most degree programs.

Fewer students take extra years full-time.

When a lot of US kids take 6 years; when we have more perks and amenities that students expect; when the government spends less per student; when default is 4 years for the undergrad degree--then things get more expensive.

And let's not get stared on the boondoggle that students face when they go for 2-3 years, have loans, and then drop out.

Still, I remember reading about protests as the first universities charged tuition for the first time a while back.
