CBS News President Aims To Make Mark On Network With Staff Shake-Up

CBS News is expected to announce a major shake-up in the lineup of its flagship shows on Monday morning. In what would represent the most significant changes under new CBS News President Susan Zirinsky, the network would be dropping chief evening anchor Jeff Glor in favor of one of Zirinsky's morning stars, Norah O'Donnell, and rebuilding the morning show around CBS's Gayle King.

CBS News would not comment on the changes, which have been the subject of media speculation and coverage in recent days, but a person knowledgeable with the plans confirmed them to NPR.

King will remain co-host of CBS This Morning, where Zirinsky plans for her to be joined by Anthony Mason, currently a correspondent and host of CBS's Saturday morning news show, and correspondent Tony Dokoupil.

Meanwhile, O'Donnell, the network's former top White House correspondent, is slated to leave King's side as co-host of CBS This Morning, to replace Glor on the CBS Evening News. Glor has been at the job for less than a year and a half.

John Dickerson, a highly regarded political reporter who was previously host of CBS's Face The Nation, is expected to switch from co-hosting CBS This Morning to become a correspondent on the prestigious Sunday night news magazine 60 Minutes, which generates huge revenues for CBS with its high ratings.

‘CBS This Morning’ Co-Host Bianna Golodryga Leaving the Network
By Dominic Patten, Nellie Andreeva
April 3, 2019

Susan Zirinsky-run CBS News confirmed “Bianna Golodryga has decided to leave the network,”
Zirinsky “felt that the show had too many anchors”.

Golodryga plans to exercise her contract option to leave the network if taken off CBS This Morning.
Golodryga is expected to continue in her role as CNN contributor.

After a couple of years of ratings gains, CBS This Morning has struggled following the ouster of co-host Charlie Rose over sexual harassment allegations.

especially BBC and Canada's . those networks actually report on important issues in the country and around the world and bring on actual experts and other professionals who know something to discuss it.

in the US it's more about "personality stars" and pundits just squawking back and forth no matter what the issue. the same dumbfuck pundits brought on to discuss foreign policy, the economy, some stupid scandal and other shit.

She's no better than Dickerson was when he did it.
