Can fines imposed by the house be pardoned? Can tRUMP do ANYTHING about the house imposing fines?

(52,188 posts)Only problem there is that he can only pardon crimes in the past, which doesn't work well for ongoing crimes. If Barr and Mnuchin are continually ignoring congress and continually committing contempt, then Donald fraud would have to either keep pardoning them or wait a and pardon them on his last day in office. But he can't help them beyond that day.
He can not pardon *inherent* contempt, which is not federal law but congress's own power to hold people in contempt.

(52,188 posts)Really all the house does is refer the matter to the a us attorney for prosecution. Donald fraud can simply instruct them to not indict.
The senate can and has pursued civil penalties, but I don't think the house has ever done that.
Inherent contempt is the house's best bet, if they have the stomach to go that route
