Just realized that Republicans are using same psy-ops as when they tried to push Iraq-war.

It's about throwing people off-balance by putting out two contradicting messages at the same time.

"Iraq is gonna kill us with WMDs. Be very afraid."
"We will take care of Iraq. Don't be afraid."

"Be very afraid."
"Don't be afraid."
"Be very afraid."
"Don't be afraid."

"Russia meddled in the 2016 election and it's Obama's fault."
"Okay, they meddled, but we should stop investigating their meddling and just move on."

"I am the law and order candidate."
"The deep state is trying to get me."

Push and pull.
Push and pull.
Inflate, deflate.
Inflate, deflate.

It's the same with what russian state-media is pushing.
"Trump is an embarrassing fool."
"Trump is a diplomatic statesman who breaks with american imperialism."

Push and pull.
Push and pull.

Keep people occupied by planting two contradicting emotions in their mind.
Prevent people from sitting down and having a clear discussion about what's going on.
KEEP THEM IN A STATE OF PUZZLEMENT.
YOU CANNOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE IF THE PEOPLE CANNOT DECIDE WHAT TO HOLD YOU ACCOUNTABLE FOR.
NEVER LET THEM PIN YOU DOWN ON A CLAIM.

Trump has lived by this rule all his life and Rudy Giulinai has given this rule a name: "There is no truth."

"It's a summary of the Mueller-report."
"It was never meant to be a summary."

"It exonerates the President!"
"We should stop talking about what's in the report."

Push and pull.
Push and pull.

You must overwhelm the mind of people with bullshit until they mentally give up and lose the overview.

Here's an experiment: Try to list, without looking it up, all the Trump-outrage that happened last month.

Throw in the kitchen sink and leave it to the defense to winnow claims.
Insidious and erosive as a political propaganda strategy.

5. And that reminds me, in turn, of a cartoon that appeared in MAD Magazine back in the 70's.

The article was a 'Right Way - Wrong-Way' kind of thing.

A bearded young hippie kid is in jail. He's on the phone to his father.

The Wrong Way:

Son: "Dad, I'm in jail. I got busted for possession.

Father: "Rot in jail for all I care, hophead!" *click*

The Right Way:

Son: "Dad, I'm in jail. They're trying to pin a charge of murder, kidnapping, and arson on me! They're trying to make me a patsy!"

Father: "What!?! They can't do that to my son!

Son: "Maybe if you get down here, you can talk them into reducing the charge to possession."

Father: "I'll be right over!" *click*
