"SNIP....

“As the standoff over President Trump’s federal tax returns deepens in Washington, New York State lawmakers say they intend to advance a bill on Wednesday to allow congressional committees to see Mr. Trump’s New York State returns,” the New York Times reports.

“State Senator Brad Hoylman, a Manhattan Democrat, confirmed on Tuesday that the State Senate has enough votes to ensure passage of a bill… The State Assembly has been slower to embrace the bill. ”

“A tax return from New York — where the president has the headquarters of his business empire and a home in Trump Tower — could contain much of the same financial information as a federal return, which Mr. Trump has steadfastly refused to release.”

noteworthy. Many states require attachment of the federal return and also other state returns if taxpayers file in more than one state. At a minimum, state returns draw heavily on the data in the federal return. Release of the NY return(s) will most likely be a huge piece in figuring out Trump’s sketchy financial picture.

There is a way. Let’s get about finding a way! No time to waste waiting for the courts to help us. That would suit tRump just fine. Run out the clock. Nope. Do it now.

Sheeple syndrome? Sheez. Wonder, would they would release anything to congress, or would anything found of interest only be turned over to the state AG?

I believe the income earned in those other states would still be reported on his NYS tax return. The main difference between a federal tax return and the NYS tax return is the deduction of NYS taxes paid on his federal return (which Trump deep sixed with his tax give-away to the rich "reform" last year). There's not much difference between the state and federal returns.

maybe an accountant can say for sure, but I thought that any income earned in a state usually means a tax return in that state.

You can have businesses in multiple states, but where you incorporated your business would be the state where you filed income taxes. Sales tax is a different story. In Trump's case I believe most (if not all) of his businesses are incorporated in New York State.

but i can't do my state taxes until after i do my federal, because i have to carry over numbers from the federal. so i think this could be quite useful.

the news that broke today is good. because it embarrasses him. ooh i can only imagine the mood that motherfucker is in right now.

i think it makes it quite clear that trump is owned by putin by money. lots and lots and lots of money. i've thought this all along and have a nice glow of validation for the moment.

so we'll see. will this move the needle? will NY follow through? tune in tomorrow for another episode of the trump reality show. i wish it would get canceled already.

Of course Trump does not want his tax returns made public. It will expose his lies that he is a "winner".
