taking the fifth. He is invoking his right to not be required to provide evidence of his clearly criminal activities. This is not surprising. But it is informative.
Executive privilege is a very specific thing and, from what I understand, not a coverall for criminal activity.
The entire Republican Party seems to be engaged in taking the fifth. Starting with twitchy Mitch McConnell. How did these ,otherwise human, excrement bags come under the thrall of such a tyrant of so little intelligence?
Now he is saying that the NYT article is at once untrue and, oh by the way, he intentionally lost all that money. He is doing to the country and the Republican Party (the two are no longer confluent entities) what he has ALWAYS done. Lie, cheat and steal in service to none but himself.
So if the NYT article is untrue, does that mean trump filed false tax returns for 10 years? Hmmm, kinda makes ya wonder. Oh well, he can can just claim executive privilege.....er I mean the Fifth.

We should never think of our rights as privileges.
